During the first round of the postgame season, the Miamisburg Lady Vikings Soccer Team went up against the #4 seed Troy. After ending the first half of the game tied 0-0, the Lady Vikings were determined to score. Alisa Arthur hit a low drive ball into the net with help from Olivia Hammerle.
With 5 minutes left in the game, the ladies from Troy scored, causing the game to end in a tie of 1-1. Going into sudden death overtime, Alisa Arthur and Logan McGuire made the play of the game. The ladies scored a goal that sent the entire team running onto the field.
I had a chance to talk with Alisa. She told me that she is proud that her team advanced in the tournament, she also told me that playing in a tournament game was a lot more stressful than a regular season game. “If you lose the game, your season is over”(Arthur).
The Lady Vikings are working hard and hope to beat their next opponent, Sidney.
