Miamisburg is hosting their 40th annual Turkey Trot at Riverfront Park. The racers meet at 8:30 am on Thursday November 22nd, but the race will commence on the intersection of Linden Ave. and Main St. There is a 1 mile race and a 5 mile race if you’re feeling extra motivated on Thanksgiving. The 1 mile race is $20 before November 12th, and $25 on Expo day and Nov. 12th-19th; the 5 mile sprint is $30 for October 15th through November 11th, although it is only $25 for ages 14 and under. The price rises to $35 on Expo Day and in between Nov. 12th-19th, but will be $30 for ages 14 and under, of course. You can register online, which will end at 8am on 11/29/18, or print a paper registration.
The race proceeds will go to a non-profit organization called Ohio River Road Runner’s Club. The club is committed to advocating for a healthy lifestyle and the delights of running, all while providing a low cost race to do so! Other partners of the Turkey Trot are A&A Safety, Kettering Sports Medicine, the Miami Valley Fire District, W.R. Hackett Inc., Fresh The Farmers Market, American Legion #165, Penske Trucks and Runners Plus. As for the shirts, there will be a shirt fitting event at Runners Plus, 8970 Kingsridge Dr. (behind the Dayton Mall) on November 10th from 1pm to 4pm. The shirt designs are yet to be revealed, as well as the sizing chart.
