The New Year's Ball Drop
When you think of New Year’s Eve, do you think of parties? Or food and music? Or maybe you think about settling down on the couch and turning on the TV to watch the New Year’s ball drop at Times Square?
There is a lot that goes into America's famous tradition of dropping the Times Square ball at midnight. The ball has been updated and improved over the years to provide the best and most enjoyable show for everyone across the country.

The Times Square ball has 32,256 LED lights that where installed in 2007. Six million colors can be made and billions of patterns can be created that makes for a kaleidoscope effect. The Times Square ball is twelve meters in diameter and weighs 11,875 pounds. The ball is covered in 2,688 Waterford crystal triangles that are different sizes ranging from four and three-quarters to five and three-quarters across the surface of the ball. It is a beautiful display of colors to look at and I hope the technology that goes into it will amaze you.

Everyone gets to experience the excitement that takes place at the end of the countdown. The best part is seeing all the couples and friends in the crowd express their love to one another.
