Hello, everybody! I hope you’ve had a wonderful September. The Valhalla Voice is a brand new newspaper written by the students of Miamisburg High School. This month’s edition marks the first of, hopefully, many more wonderful editions.
But why did the newspaper start? Our story may humor you, slightly. My friends and I were simply conversing about news at lunch when I suddenly proclaimed that we should have a school newspaper. They all agreed, and I gathered some more information about how to start a club. After deciding that Mr. Toschlog would be a great adviser for the newspaper, I typed a proposal, which was then submitted to Mr. Morris. During summer break, I met with the Board of Education to discuss our ideas, and eventually, they approved our proposal!
Our informational meeting turnout stupefied all of us! We had many willing people come, and many more took applications if they could not make it to the meeting. Eventually, we ended up with thirty amazing people who were ready to participate.
In this month’s edition, you can expect to find a variety of topics, including advice for how to get back into a school mindset, reviews of local cafes, political discussions, and updates on Hurricane Harvey. We also have two incredible artists who will be contributing comics with their inspirations. Although you see only four articles on the front page, make sure to check out the “news” tab to view all the articles from this month’s edition!
I hope you enjoy reading and viewing the content produced by our staff. Please don’t forget to leave comments so we can improve each and every month!
